Read our interviews with Henrik, Signe, Janne, Jens, Anna, Alexandra and Lena where they are sharing their favourite local tips as well as giving you a sneak peak into behind the scenes of Running Copenhagen.
Our team of guides consists of experienced runners and passionate Copenhageners – We love our city and we love running! At Running Copenhagen we are determined to deliver an unrivaled experience in Copenhagen both in terms of showing our guests the city’s attractions and also providing an authentic insight into life in Copenhagen and Denmark. We are all big “consumers” of the city and all it has to offer, which means that we are always more than happy to recommend events, exhibitions, restaurants and running routes, as well as giving suggestions as to what else to experience in our fantastic capital. Copenhagen is a true gem and we would like our guests to experience the city the same way that we do.
All our guides have been through an intensive training consisting of Running Group Safety and Tour Facts and Figures, which ensures that our guests are in safe hands, when running through the city and that we deliver high quality tours. When running through a city its important that its a smooth and safe run, to fully enjoy the run and take in the atmosphere and information.
Our guides are all trained and experienced in guiding a group of runners safely through Copenhagen, leaving our guests to relax and enjoy this unique experience. In case of accidents, we always carry a mobile to arrange for emergency treatment.
A guide to suit your need
Our guides have different backgrounds and interests which for the private tours enable us to match the guide with the interests and needs of our customers. If you want to run fast, we will match you with the guide who is among the running elite in Denmark, and if you would like to get into the details of historic Copenhagen, we will match you with the guide who is doing a Master in History.
Running Copenhagen is with its team of guides also able to provide guided running tours for larger events, where several guides are needed to accommodate for a large number of runners or different interests.
Guests about our running guides
Great value and experience
“Well I’m still buzzing from my tour around Copenhagen with Henrik. I asked if it was possible to have a bit of a geeky tour of the recent scandi drama locations over a half marathon tour so I could keep my training up ahead of upcoming races. It didn’t disappoint !!
Full of great locations as well as taking in the many other great places around the city. Nyhavn, Kastellet, The Little Mermaid, the main city centre and Town Hall, The waterfront, Christiansborg and a gem that is the alternative Christiania.
Loved every minute and we even ended up just shy of 25k so a so bonus distance too :)”
The perfect way to see the city
“I was paired up with Signe for a very early Saturday run. I’d escaped to Copenhagen with my wife for a Valentine’s weekend break, so thought I would leave her in bed, head out at 7 and be back for 8.30 with coffee and pastries. Overnight the temperature plummeted and snow was everywhere.
But what a fantastic experience and brilliant way to see the city. Signe was the perfect guide, knowing about the city and making sure we ran at the right pace.
I can’t recommed this high enough!”
The Best Way To See Copenhagen
“What a great tour! Wish I had done this first thing when I arrived!
This running tour will make the rest of your stay in Copenhagen better. It’s a perfect way to get acquainted with this lovely city; doing a running tour not only provided insider tips on where to go and, from a safety standpoint, where not to go, it was also great to hear historical insights of a city with a lot of history. I also knew the city much better at the end of the tour and felt more comfortable walking around town. Our guide, Anna was so enthusiastic about her city that it was infectious. She let us set the pace, was supremely patient as I asked loads of questions and never balked at stopping to take pictures.
At the end of the tour I had a list of restaurants and bars to visit that only the locals know about.
As a coffee lover, take some cash with you so you can hit the Coffee Lab just across from the meeting point afterwards.”
Seeing Copenhagen – the best way!
“Jens met me at the hotel where I was staying on a business trip and we had a fun, informative and scenic run for around 8.5 miles. I saw all sides of Copenhagen and learned a lot about the history and culture – I would thoroughly recommend this as a great way to escape from a conference and really see the city!”
“This was the perfect way to see Copenhagen. My wife and I went on an early morning run and were the only people at The Little Mermaid.
Our guide Janne was fantastic and knowledgeable. In fact when our Visa didn’t work at the bakery at the end of the tour, she stepped in and saved the day. One of the best excursions we have ever done.”

“Joined the “group” tour on Saturday but I ended up having a private run with Alexandra. It was a chilly 27 degrees when I woke up, and Alexandra brought me an extra layer since I was traveling light from New Orleans and wasn’t prepared. I was perfectly warm though and had a delightful time seeing the city as the sun came up.
I loved experiencing the city this way, and Alexandra made the tour interesting enough I forgot it was cold! I would highly recommend the company, and Alexandra, very professional and easy. What a great way morning and a great way to start my visit to Copenhagen.”
If you run you must book a tour with Lena! The best in CPH.
“We booked an early morning private 10k tour with Lena and can honestly say it was one of the best experiences Ive had on a city break. As we had seen many of the Copenhagen sights Lena suggested we incorporate the freetown of Christiania into our route. A fascinating insight into a part of Copenhagen many will never see.
Lena has the most in-depth knowledge of the city and knows so many interesting facts. We even got to see the new site for Noma which is currently a derelict shell of a building covered in cool graffiti. We’ve decided we must come back in 2017 to eat at the new Noma and also do another run with Lena. Just fabulous!”
