An Urban Treasure Hunt puts you and your colleagues’ knowledge about Copenhagen on the test and makes you rediscover the Copenhagen history, the Copenhagen sights and the edgyness, that make Copenhagen special. The Treasure Hunt can be customized so that both true Copenhageners and people with less knowledge about the city can participate.
Urban Treasure Hunt: Customised to your Organisation
We customise the entire Treasure Hunt in terms of challenges and “spots” to your organisation and audience. This means that if your group consists mainly of non-Danes we would include challenges that focus on Copenhagen and “Danishness” without it being touristy. It is more a focus on the Danish culture and our many odd habits, classic locations and history. We also try with the Treasure Hunt for especially people abroad to also introduce them to places that they would probably not know unless they have been here for a long time or married to a Copenhagener. So a bit of Copenhagen Cool, disguised as a Treasure Hunt.
If your group on the other hand consists of mostly Danes, we would adjust the Treasure Hunt to include challenges around known historic places, iconic bars and streets and subcultures. We have in the past had categories such as Gasolin and Anker Jørgensen that has been very much enjoyed by our participants.
We also always try to make your brand and organisation part of the Treasure Hunt so in the past, participants have for example been challenged to find the company name grafittied on the Grey Hall at Christiania.
Urban Treasure Hunt: Practicalities
The fast and experienced runner as well as the running debutant will compete on equal terms in an Urban Treasure Hunt as both your creativity, craftiness, cooperation and tactic skills will be put to good use. And in order to win, a bit of luck is required as well. If not all in your group are keen runners we can also organise the Treasure Hunt as a walking event.
The run begins with all participants receiving a treasure map along with a list of posts that the participants have find and take picture of. You will be giving a certain amount of time, and in that time you will run to as many posts as possible and take a picture of the post. You either run in couples, smaller groups or alone.
When the time runs out we will find out who has visited the most posts during the run and who has succeeded in finding the right posts and who has taken the best pictures, that can be celebrated as winner.
We have the material, the experience and the good ideas when it comes to arranging Treasure Hunts. As a participant you will only need to bring running shoes and a camera or a smartphone. Running Copenhagen offer bathing facilities. Food or snacks can be served after the run.
