Do we stop by the attractions on the run?
Yes! We have short stops by the main attractions where the guide talks about the sights, the history, share a few anecdotes and take your photos.
Do you cancel if it rains or snows?
No we do not cancel our tours if it rains, snows etc. The only instance where we would cancel a tour is if it is very icy. If this happens we will let participants know in advance either via email or phone. It is however, very rare that conditions are so icy that we have to cancel, so if you are in doubt…expect to run 🙂
What should I wear?
In Denmark we have the cold winters and relatively warm summers, so weather conditions vary significantly. It is always a good idea to check the weather conditions before travelling to Copenhagen, so that you know what temperatures to expect.
During the colder months we always recommend people to wear an extra layer in addition to what they would normally wear as we have short stops along the run, in order to take photos and for the guide to talk about the attractions. It is much better to be able to take off a layer, as opposed to be freezing or having blue lips when having your picture taken by the Little Mermaid.
In summer you can easily just wear a t-shirt and a pair of shorts/tights. It is, however, very important to remember sunscreen (at least SPF 15), so that sun burn is avoided. A hat can also be very handy if you happen to run on a really hot day.
Is there water on the tour?
Water is not included so we always recommend our guests to bring their own water on a warm day. There are a few public water fountains along the way, so if you are in need of a sip of water, simply ask the guide to point out a drinking spot
How fast do you run on the tours, do I have to be an elite runner to participate?
Group tour. The running pace vary from tour to tour, but normally we run between 5.30 – 6.00 min/km. On the description pages for each tour, it is indicated what the running pace is for a particular tour. It is important that participants can comfortably cover the route at the indicated pace, so that the run is a firstly an enjoyment and secondly to ensure that the entire group has an enjoyable run.
Private tour: On our private tours we run at the pace that is the most comfortable for the individual guest. It is your tour and you don’ have to worry about your guide leaving you behind.
I have booked a pair of shoes, when and where do I pick them up?
You have to pick up and return the shoes at a running store in Copenhagen called Joyrun.dk. Bring your confirmation email to Joyrun where you pick up your shoes. You can pick your shoes up 24 hours before your tour and they will have to be returned to Joyrun.dk within 24 hours after your tour. Joyrun.dk is located close to Nørreport (view map here) and the shoes will have to be picked up within normal opening times, which are:
Monday to Friday 10.00-18.00
Is it possible to store bags and clothes at the place we start?
Its not unfortunately. It is, however, possible to store bags etc at the Central Station (just by the Exit towards Istedgade), which is about 300 meters from the City Hall where most of our tours start. The price for a box for 24 hours is between 45-55 DKK depending on the size of the box. Even the small storage boxes are fairly large, so if you are a group who just need to store valuables and perhaps a tracksuit, one box will be more than enough.
Where to eat and what else to do other than run?
Is it possible to take pictures along the way?
Yes, you can bring your camera and snap away. The running guide will also take pictures along the route, and if there is a certain place you would like your picture taken, then simply ask your guide. The pictures will be available online after the tour has ended, and you will find them in the gallery.
