Fancy a Copenhagen Trail Running in the old hunting ground of the Danish Kings while getting up close and personal to the many deers. We can follow the paved roads or we can go full on trailrunning in this fantastic area. This is up to you as the Deer Garden caters for both the experienced trailrunner to the city slicker who wants to breathe in the fresh air and run amongst live deer.
Teaser: Deers within arms reach and stunning landscape
Distance: 10-20 km
Duration: ½ day
Price: 600 - 2100 per person
The Deer Garden is on the Unesco World Heritage List and as you run amongst the trees , breathe in the fresh air while being surrounded by deers, you understand exactly why. This is indeed a unique opportunity to run in the old forest park which for many hundred of years have been the hunting grounds of successive Danish kings.
This is a half day tour and the route that we run is both incredible beautiful and also very historic. You will see the feeding grounds for the deers, take in the breathtaking view of the Eremitage Castle and run past some of the biggest oak trees in Denmark with circimferences of 10+ meter. We will stop for refreshments and take in the beautiful nature and breathe in the peace and quiet. This is true balm for the soul!
You will be picked up by your hotel in the morning and then we will drive to the deer garden which is around 25 km outside the city centre. The tour includes refreshments and energy along the route, but runners should bring (and carry – yikes!) their own water on the run.
Copenhagen Trail Running in the Deer Garden
The Deer Garden is located 20 kilometers outside Copenhagen, so your guide will pick you up from your hotel and together you will drive to the Deer Garden. We will park close to the park and within minutes (maybe even seconds) you will find yourself running in the famous Deer Park.
This is the type of tour where you run and find yourself going ”aaaah”. And whether it is spring, summer or winter, this tour is nothing less than amazing.
TRANSPORT: Just to set expectations, then runners will not be picked up in a Mercedes or Lexus, but in a simple Fiat. However no need to despair, with the incredible Punto Power we will reach the Deer Garden in no time.
Distance – 10 – 20 km – please choose the number of kilometers you would like to run during the booking process.
